Our farm

Two brothers, ten years of mushrooms

Family-run since 2015, growing the specialty mushrooms that are nearly impossible to find anywhere else in Australia.

From a backyard obsession to a working farm

Shroom Brothers was established in 2015 as a family-run company with one goal: grow the specialty mushrooms that are difficult to come by in Australia.

A decade on, we operate purpose-built, climate-controlled grow rooms on a 17-acre property in the hinterland — fruiting thousands of blocks year-round and harvesting every day. Our mushrooms are at ten farmers markets a week and on daily delivery runs to restaurants, grocers and distributors across the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Northern Rivers.

We take total responsibility for everything that leaves the farm. Fresh, spray-free, and grown with care — that's the standard, every day.

Meet Abel & Andrew Mohanu

The brothers behind Shroom Brothers. What began as a shared obsession with fungi has become a decade of growing — Abel and Andrew run every part of the operation, from spawn to substrate to the market stall.

If you've bought a punnet at one of our markets, chances are one of them handed it to you.

How we grow

Clean, circular, spray-free

01

Spray-free, always

No sprays at any stage of the growing process. What you get is pure mushroom — nothing else.

02

Grown on coffee

Our growing substrate is supplemented with used organic coffee grounds from local cold brew company The Kind Coffee Co — café waste given a delicious second life.

03

Nothing wasted

Spent substrate becomes free mushroom mulch for anyone in the community. Your garden will thank us.

Growing courses

After ten years of refining our growing methods, we're opening the farm doors. Hands-on mushroom growing courses are in the works — learn the real techniques behind a commercial growing operation, from substrate to harvest.

Please note the farm isn't open to walk-ins — entry is by appointment only. Get in touch and we'll arrange a time.
